Hotel demolition was approved

Contrary to out story in last week’s Galloway Gazette ‘Hotel decision goes to Scottish ministers’, approval was given by Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Planning Applications’ Committee for the former hotel in Glenluce to be demolished id certain conditions were met.

A council spokesman said: “The council agreed to recommend approval of application [A] 13/P/1/0352 to Scottish Historic Society under paragraph c of the Scottish Historic Environment Policy (SHEP): the demolition of the building is essential to delivering significant benefits to economic growth or the wider community, as this development would improve the street scape, subject to a condition that prior to approval of application [B] 13/P/1/0321 a contractor be appointed.”
