The Grainstore in Stranraer is planning an exciting art installation as part of the Christmas Celebrations in the town centre.

As part of the project, the team behind the venue is looking for all sorts of images and video footage of Stranraer and around, works of art and images of events locally over the last year, to be used as part of a commissioned film to be projected on to the wall of the main elevation of the Grainstore.

These will include photographs, film or video footage and original art work. So if you are an artist, a photographer or film maker, young or old, experienced or just starting, they would love to hear from you. You could see your work, large, up in lights.

Details of this project and promising developments with the future of the Grainstore will be released shortly so keep your eyes wide open.

The team is also looking for volunteers both in the lead up to, and on the projection days, to clean the courtyard, decorate the pend and steward the event each night for a few hours. So if you think you would like to be involved in what will be an ongoing project to get the Grainstore back into use for the good people of Stranraer, get in touch. The team promises it’s made up of a friendly bunch and normally make great tea.

The projections will take place in the lead up to Christmas with different content each night.
