Carsluith Village Hall is gearing up for its main fundraising event of the year, the annual Carsluith ceilidh on Saturday, November 10, in the village hall.

The organisers are looking forward to welcoming a new band to the event – The Doonhamers Scottish Dance Band. They will join home-grown talent in the form of Wyllie McCulloch as master of ceremonies and David Hannay on the small pipes for what promises to be a great evening of Scottish music and dance.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from Wyllie McCulloch (01671 820 630) or Bill Mitchell (01671 820 223) at a cost of only £7 (£3.50 for children), which includes a homemade buffet supper.

The event is organised by the village hall’s management committee. All funds raised go towards the running of the village hall, which is home to a range of clubs offering activities as diverse as carpet bowling, table tennis, drama and piping.
