Helen and Willie Kelly from Vancouver, Canada are both great fans of the Galloway Past Picture each week in The Galloway Gazette.
Willie writes: “Your Galloway Past articles and pictures are still (after 45 years) of great interest to Helen and myself. We have lived in Vancouver since 1966 but still think of Galloway as home. We spent many years in Creetown.”
He also e-mailed this picture of the Creetown/Carsluith Home Guard during the Second World War which he thinks was taken on the High Road at Creetown.
If you recognise anyone in the picture please contact Louise at The Gazette on 01671 404767 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Last week’s picture of outdoor curling brought an immediate response from Jim Wright from Newton Stewart and Hugh Rae who both recognised the Loch of Larg curling pond near New Luce with the viaduct on the Stranraer to Ayr railway line in the background.
