A Dumfries & Galloway, luxury hotel has been shortlisted for the inaugural UK Wedding Awards 2016 with voting now open for the public.
Michelin listed Knockinaam Lodge, near Portpatrick in Dumfries & Galloway, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Coastal Venue’ category of the UK Wedding Awards 2016, which recognise the very best of the UK’s bridal industry.
The UK Wedding Awards – hosted by Immediate Media’s Wedding Network brands: Hitched, Perfect Wedding and You & Your Wedding - celebrates all aspects of the wedding industry, with 23 categories from fabulous venues to beautiful dresses, incredible jewellery to dream honeymoons.
The nominees across the 23 categories, focused around five key areas – Venues, Fashion, Suppliers, Travel and Gift Lists - were chosen by a panel of industry experts from hundreds of entries.
The Dumfries & Galloway hotel is competing against eleven other hotels for ‘Best Coastal Venue’ and tough competition includes the likes of Angel House in Cornwall, Lunga in Argyll and Polhawn Fort near Plymouth.
Knockinaam Lodge offers couples a completely tailored wedding service, ideal for smaller scale weddings, with ten individually designed, spacious bedrooms and a marquee located on its front lawn which spans to the shoreline of its own discreet, beach cove.
A new addition this year is the fully accessible Shingle Lodge, the hotel’s seaside, luxury cottage which offers an additional family space or romantic hideaway for the newly wed, boasting stunning seascapes across the Irish Sea.
David Ibbotson, owner of Knockinaam Lodge, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for ‘Best Coastal Venue’ in this year’s UK Wedding Awards. We are proud to offer a very individual wedding service, tailored to the couple’s absolute wish and including every, intricate detail.
“Our feedback tells us that getting married at Knockinaam Lodge is a very personal and memorable experience and with further investment into Shingle Lodge we can also offer a whole new, luxury space for visitors booking this year.”
Zoe Jobson, Immediate Weddings Publisher, said: “We are delighted with the level of entries that we have received for the UK Wedding Awards 2016. The range, quality and diversity of the entries is a real reflection on the talent and service levels we have in the UK wedding market.”
It is now up to the public to decide whether the crown for ‘Best Coastal Venue’ should be awarded to the Dumfries & Galloway hotel by voting for Knockinaam Lodge on http://www.hitched.co.uk/awards/vote/#best-coastal-venue
Voting closes on Thursday 11 February with every voter entered in to a PRIZE DRAW for the chance to win an all-inclusive seven night break for two to Cancun, Mexico.
