The funeral of 19-year old Kieran Currie who was killed by a passing lorry on the A75 a fortnight ago took place on Tuesday.
And police confirmed this week they are no further forward with tracing the lorry and driver responsible.
Officers admitted last week the driver may be oblivious to the collision, with some truckers claiming such a hit would be difficult to feel in an HGV.
Hundreds attended the fuenral at Penninghame Church in Newton Stewart wearing football tops, as requested by Kieran’s family, where tributes were paid.
Friends of Kieran have begun a fundraising effort for a memorial bench in his honour and have so far raised around £500. Donations are being taken in local shops and through door-to-door collections.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was using the A75 around the time Kieran was injured - 2.40am on Saturday 17 August at Calgow Farm, just east of Newton Stewart.
