FUnding boost for Home-Start

Galloway MP Russell Brown has welcomed the news that Home-Start Wigtownshire has been awarded £5000 by the Llyods TSB Foundation for Scotland

The money will go towards volunteer expenses to work with 63 vulnerable families in the year. Home-Start Wigtownshire helps those who are finding it difficult to manage the stresses of bringing up a young family. The charity’s trained volunteers visit these families and help with everyday difficulties that parents with young children have to tackle.

Mr Brown said:“This award of funding is well deserved and most welcome. Home-Start offers an excellent service to young families in the area. Their volunteers offer that extra bit of support that some parents need. Their volunteers can offer something as simple as someone to talk as well as other services like helping parents keep medical appointments. This award will help the chairty to continue to offer such services.”
