A local farmer’s wife is set to take to the stage next weekend to offer vocal support to a touring legend.

Peat Loaf, aka Pete Rossi, the award-winning Meat Loaf tribute act, will storm onto the stage at the Millennium Centre in Stranraer on Friday 7 June with vocals from Gina Lawson, who lives near Barrachan.

Gina, who sang with the band years ago, hung up her mic to concentrate on her textile art whens he moved to Galloway three and a half year sgo.

But she has come out of retirement to join Ayrshire-born Pete and his full band, who will play in Stranraer for the first time in 15 years.

Peat Loaf is better known in Benidorm where his sell-out act is a favourite with returning guests, but he is now back on home soil for a few gigs around the country.

Gina said: “It’s been a while but I’m thrilled to be joining the band again. It’s a bit of a change from what I’m used to doing nowadays but I’m looking forward to it.

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets can be bought at Discovery, Hanover Street, Stranraer or by calling 01776 700000.
