Four figure reward for cat killer clues

Animal charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has put up a four-figure sum for information on the shooting of a cat in Stranraer last week.

The black and white tom cat returned home to Park Lea Gardens at 10pm on Thursday, 24 July with serious injuries. After a visit to the vet, it was decided the kindest course of action was to put the 13-year old animal to sleep.

A PETA spokesman said this week: “It is imperative that any community faced with a sadistic and violent act such as this take measures to find the culprit or culprits and bring them to justice.

“Animal abusers are a danger to everyone – they take their issues out on whomever is available to them, human or non-human, and must be caught before they act again.”

Anyone who has any information should call Police Scotland on 101 or inform a local officer.
