A new report is looking into bringing together national scenic areas, Galloway Forest Park, Galloway Dark Sky Park and the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere into a new national park.
A report has been produced in partnership with the Scottish Campaign for National Parks (SCNP) and the Galloway and Southern Area Biosphere.
Councillors will hear of progress to date, and any next steps which should be taken, at the meeting of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Economy, Environment and Infrastructure Committee on 15th November.
Committee Chair Colin Smyth said: “A Galloway National Park is unquestionably a truly exciting prospect. But we know delivering this will not be easy.
“However, the prize at the end could be tremendous for the region.”
