The Galloway Gazette continues its profiles of the candidates standing for the Galloway seat ahead of Thursday’s Scottish Elections:
SNP candidate Aileen McLeod said: “On Thursday I’m asking you to vote for me as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Galloway and West Dumfries. As many will know, in 2011 I was elected a List MSP for the South of Scotland and it is on the basis of my record over the past five years, as well as my vision of what I want to see happen in this area over the next five years that I am seeking your vote on Thursday.
“If elected as your MSP my priorities are clear. First I want to see investment and jobs coming to the constituency both from new business start-ups and from the development and growth of our existing small and medium sized firms. Second I want to see even more public investment in our roads, in broadband connectivity and in affordable housing. Third I want to ensure the interests and ambitions of local communities are fully represented in the design and delivery of policies, including projects that support at a local level our vulnerable, elderly and disadvantaged folk. Finally I want to see further investment in our local NHS facilities, including initiatives that will see more NHS services delivered locally.
“I believe my record in delivering for the people and communities across this constituency demonstrates that I have the vision, the leadership and the commitment required to ensure Galloway and West Dumfries shares fully in the brighter future for our country under a re-elected SNP government.”
