An 80-year-old driver suffered broken bones in her neck and back and her two elderly passengers were also injured yesterday (Thursday) when a white DAF lorry and a Vauxhall Corsa collided on the A75 near Castle Kennedy.
At around 2.25pm, the lorry, which was being driven by a 31-year-old man from Newton Stewart, and the Corsa, driven by the Stranraer woman, met on the busy Euro route. The 81-year-old and 82-year-old passengers in the Corsa, both from Stranraer, received minor cuts and bruises as a result. The driver of the lorry was not injured.
The road was immediately closed in both directions and the injured were taken to hospital in Stranraer by ambulance. The road was reopened before 6pm.
