Double assault in Stranraer under investigation

Police are investigating two assaults in Stranraer which took place on Thursday.

At about 11.15am, a disturbance took place in Glebe Street in the town involving a number of people resulting in a 22-year old female being assaulted.

A few minutes later, a further disturbance took place in Ashwood Drive, near to its junction with Murrayfield Gardens, which left a 27-year old male with serious head injuries.

Police are looking to trace a heavy-set male who was wearing a black t-shirt and a male in a dark coloured jacket wearing glasses who were involved in these incidents.

Police are also keen to trace the driver of a silver/grey car and a light blue coloured car that were in the area of these incidents at the time they occurred.

Anyone with any information about these incidents is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and ask for the Police at Stranraer CID.
