Deputy lord lieutenants appointed

TWO new deputy lord lieutenants of the Stewartry have been appointed.

The lord lieutenant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, Sir Malcolm Ross, announced the appointment of Jamie Gilroy and Alexander McCulloch on Monday.

Mr Gilroy, of Dundrennan, is a farmer and managing director of the Wickerman Festival, and chairman of Dundrennan Community Council. His hobbies include hunting, shooting, and travelling in Africa.

Mr McCulloch, of Ardwall, is also a farmer. He is treasurer of Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church, a council member of the Belted Galloway Cattle Society and immediate past-president of the Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies. His hobbies include philately, golf, Scottish country dancing, hiking, and cycling.
