OVER 50 Cub Scouts from Urr, Castle Douglas, Gatehouse, Glenkens, Minnigaff and Glenluce packs descended on Barcaple Christian Outdoor Centre, Ringford, for some outdoor exploits recently.
The squeals of delight of Cubs thundering down the zip wire rang around the grounds and the 50-foot tree climb certainly was challenging but the youngsters reached the top.
Another base using a tree was to climb a ladder onto a platform and abseil down the tree.
A challenge course was a team effort at its best. The Cubs had many hurdles to manoeuvre, a bucket of water and a water balloon over an “A” shaped rope climb, through tunnels, log balancing and much more.
The ropes course was gruelling and finally there was archery. Robin Hood never stood a chance.
