Chris heads for Everest

Chris Allison, educated at Penninghame Primary and the Douglas Ewart High School currently works as the Online Sales Manager, UK and Europe for Air New Zealand.

On 26th April, with a group of 12 Air NZ colleagues from across the world he departs on a trip of a lifetime, the Mount Everest Base Camp Climb. At 18,000ft the camp is just 600m shorter than the summit of the infamous Mt Kilimanjaro. What makes this trek unique to other mountain climbs is the amount of time spent at altitude, creating some quite extreme climbing conditions. 50% less oxygen than normal, freezing temperatures, no showers for a week and blisters bursting through his socks are some of what he has to look forward to.

Chris along with others in the group are committing themselves to the climb in order to help Air NZ UK towards its annual fundraising target of $28,000 for its nominated charity – Phab Kids, a national charity very active in local communities surrounding Air NZ UK offices.

If you would like to support Chris in achieving his personal fund raising goal of $3,500 you can donate by visiting his just giving page.
