Care homes win awards

Two Galloway care homes have received recognition through a host of honours.

Kelly Henderson, senior support worker at Carlingwark House, was named the Carer of the Year at the Scottish Care Awards. Kelly was recognised for her dedicated contribution to the home’s efforts to become a centre-of-excellence for dementia care.

And Thorney Croft Care Home in Stranraer was named the Green Care Home of the Year at the National Care Awards. This recognised their environmentally-friendly efforts.

The incredible impact of their creativity and ambition has seen them recognised with these award nominations.”
