Next Saturday sees the Creetown Buskers Banquet kick off for its inaugural year.
As part of the Creative Scotland’s Creative Place Award, Creetown Initiative’s latest venture hopes to encourage local musicians, and those from further afield, to busk in 30 different spots around the village, at different times.
Alongside professional musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra, talented acts from our local community such as Scruffy Buzzards and Whithorn Folk Band, and the winning act will have a slot on the main stage at this year’s Eden Festival, just outside Dumfries.
The event brings music back to the town after the Creetown Country Music Festival lost popularity several years ago.
Locals and visitors will be able to follow the music trail around the village, effectively becoming a part of the event themselves.
The fun takes place between 1pm and 5pm in various spots around the village. If you are a musician interested in having a spot, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 01671 820654. All spots need to be booked in advance.
