Second monitor farm meeting at laggan

Following the success of the Agritourism’s first Monitor Farm event, held at Peel Farm in Angus, details of the second monitor farm meeting have been announced at Laggan Outdoor (Dumfries & Galloway) on the 3rd June from 2pm to 5pm.

Monitor Farms is an 18-month project, funded by Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Government, designed to boost the agritourism sector, share best practices and create a real sense of identity for the sector.

Duncan, Murray and John McConchie at Laggan Farm - which offers mountain boarding, archery, Segway tours and boasts one of Europe’s longest zip wires - are gearing up to give a ‘behind the scenes’ view of the farm and its adventure sports and holiday accommodation businesses.

Duncan at Laggan Outdoor said: “The great turn out for the first Monitor Farm meeting at Peel Farm was a testament to the support offered within the agritourism industry. Feedback, positive and negative, will serve as a useful tool in promoting the sustainability of our businesses, and I am eager to see what the attendees think of our facilities at Laggan Outdoor.”

He continued: “We are a prime example of sustainable tourism with minimal disturbance to the surrounding landscape, but as with any business – we are always looking to improve and look forward to working with all those attending.”

Facilitated by Caroline Millar from Go Rural Consulting, it is hoped that the event will not only be of value to the McConchie family, but also everyone who attends.

Due to the large amount of interest received in the event, a car share system has been put in place. For attendees travelling from a distance, they are advised to get in touch at to see if a car share can be arranged.
