Wigtown woman Sharon Milven recently completed the London Marathon raising over £4,000 for Alzheimer Scotland in the process.
Sharon, who admitted she burst into tears when coming down the Mall towards the finish line, had been suffering from a dodgey knee in the run up to the event, but bravely ran on through the pain barrier. She wanted to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland after her father was diagnosed with the illness.
She said: “My family and friends have been a great support and help in raising £4050 for Alzheimer Scotland, double what we had hoped for.
“It was a fantastic day and crossing the finish line was such an emotional time knowing that my dad would be so proud.”
