Three motorcyclists visiting the area from Sheffield were stopped by police for driving at speeds over 130 mph last week.

As a result, a 36-year-old, a 42- year-old and a 46-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Neil Hewitson of the Roads Policing Unit said: “These are ridiculous speeds on a public road and officers will be continue to patrol all our roads in the region to promote safe and responsible motorcycling as part of Operation Zenith.
“ In the run up this week to the North West 200 motorcycle event in Northern Ireland this weekend, our roads will become much busier with motorcycle traffic and officers will be out on patrol to ensure that those passing through are adhering to the laws of the road.”
