NEWTON Stewart Fire Station Crew Manager Damien Moore was recently presented with a 20-year long service and good conduct medal by area manager Neville Wright.
Damien joined Dumfries and Galloway Fire and Rescue Service as a firefighter at Newton Stewart Fire Station in December 1, 1991, and later progressed to the role of Crew Manager in 2004. During this time, he has consistently demonstrated his professionalism and has gone above and beyond his regular duties by completing specialist training in both water rescue and mass decontamination. His dedication and commitment is recognised as being a great asset to the communities to which he serves.
Area Manager Neville Wright said: “It takes great dedication to serve as a retained firefighter. I congratulate Damien on his commitment to the Fire and Rescue Service and thank his family for the support given over the years.”
Dumfries and Galloway Fire and Rescue Service would also like to give recognition to Damien’s primary employer, The Post Office, who look favourably on his role as a retained firefighter. Without their support, and like minded companies, the service would face real challenges in providing fire and rescue cover within Dumfries and Galloway.
