April the snowed-in ewe now goes global

The fame of the ewe who survived in a snowdrift for 11 days has now spread across the world.

Farming student Stuart Mactier, who rescued to ewe on his father’s farm at Mochrum last week from an icy grave, recently received a call from a radio station in Ontario, Canada, asking to hear about the remarkable story that unfolded on Easter Monday. The four-year-old ewe, who has now been christened April, is still making a good recovery from her ordeal that saw her feature on national television, radio and the national newspapers.

The picture Stuart took of April recovering on a hay bale after her ordeal has received 17,000 hits since he put it up on his Facebook page.
