Newton Stewart Museum are looking for you to volunteer this season at the fascinating community facility on York Road.
“What a great place to visit!” “Love the detail.” “Excellent.” These are a few comments from some of last year’s visitors to Newton Stewart Museum which re-opened at Easter. Volunteers were busy for weeks beforehand cleaning, re-vamping and organising new displays using equipment bought with funds donated by local charities for this purpose.
Open from 2.00 pm till 5.00pm from now till October, with all day opening from 10.30 a.m in July and August, this wonderful local asset was established by Helen Drew almost 40 years ago . Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, it continues to attract visitors from home and abroad as well as from schools and other local organisations.
Further information about visits or volunteering can be obtained from Gene Fryatt, Secretary, at 01671 401048.
