Jack Forsyth, from Mid Bishopton, Whithorn, recently won the Christmas Fatstock show at Dumfries Market with his bullock ‘Jackthelad’.
The Champion Rosebowl went to the 18-month old, 655Kg Limousin cross bred at home by Jack’s father James. Jackthelad was subsequently sold for the top prize of £1801.25 to Ballards Butchers in Castle Douglas.
The show of prime cattle and lambs was judged by Stuart Ramsay, Kelso.
Earlier in the summer, fourteen-year-old Jack won the overall beef young handlers competition at the prestigious Royal Highland Show at Ingliston with Jackthelad.
