The APEX team in Stranraer recently hosted their annual awards ceremony which saw service users recognised for the achievements they have made throughout the year.

Apex Stranraer is a leading unit for Apex Scotland, a charity committed to working with offenders and ex-offenders, young people and also adults at risk.

Local MP Richard Arkless was invited to present certificates to the group who had all overcome personal challenges to achieve success in a range of different areas.

Mr Arkless said: “It was my privilege to present these important awards and I was delighted to also make a short speech to the group to congratulate them all on just how well they have done.

“I explained to the group receiving these awards that they have had to deal with challenges I have never had to face.

Mhairi Ross from APEX said: “This ceremony is a way of thanking all our service users and volunteers for all their hard work over the year and to mark any achievements they have made. It is one of the highlights of our year.”
