On Monday 28th September, exactly 50 years since the official opening of the school in 1965, the staff, pupils and parents buried a time capsule in their school grounds.
All pupils from Nursery to P7 made lists of suggestions for the contents of the time capsule. A shortlist was made and items put in the time capsule including old school photos, photos of sports day, the football and netball teams, an anniversary teddy and mug, a CD with the children and staff singing songs from their 50th anniversary concert as well as a school jumper, a pencil and a rubber amongst many other objects.
The pupil council helped lower the capsule into the hole and cover it with soil. A cairn will be built on the top by Keith Gordon who is a parent at the school. One of the stones will be engraved and will show clearly where pupils, staff and parents need to dig when they unearth the capsule in 2065!
