The West Galloway Cancer Drop in Centre in Stranraer is hosting a pre-Christmas open day between 10.00am and 1.00pm on Thursday 24 December.
The centre is in the Galloway Community Hospital and it is managed by Una Wilson and Kate McIntyre who will be there with a warm welcome on the day. Una said: “We have had a cancer drop in centre in Stranraer for 16 years and over that time we have seen a lot of people. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is scary for the person who has the illness but it can also have a serious impact on their friends and families.
“We are opening our doors to everyone in the area so we can spread awareness about what we do to support people when they need a helping hand.”
Kate added: “The drop in centre is a great resource for people who have been affected by cancer. This is something people don’t really talk about until it affects them or someone they know. We can offer all kinds of support, advice and information and I hope we get lots of visitor to our open day.”
