This brand new production, adapted from Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories, is the third Sherlock Holmes mystery that Chapterhouse Theatre Company have turned their hand to. They began by touring The Hound of the Baskervilles in 2013 and the The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in 2014. Now in 2015, The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes is proving to be one of the most anticipated shows of the summer.
“Sherlock Holmes is one of the most iconic characters of English literature and it’s been a real pleasure to create an original story featuring him and his associate Dr Watson. I wanted to take Sherlock and Watson right into the heart of the countryside where our productions are set as they visit a nunnery and discover a chilling murder. The show is designed to appeal to fans of the Sherlock Holmes canon as well as those who have not yet discovered the infamous detective; everyone can enjoy the twists and turns of this exhilarating murder mystery.” - Laura Turner, Script Writer.
“Sherlock Holmes is a fascinating character. It is a great opportunity for myself as a director to reveal this new Sherlock Holmes adventure. This year Sherlock finds himself at the heart of a new mystery featuring nuns, monks and murder.” – Philip Stevens, Director.
Praise for The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (2014).
“I was easily drawn into the story and hooked to the end, which offered an extra special twist.” - Derbyshire Times. (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes)
“Laura Turner’s original Sherlock Holmes story, based on Conan Doyle’s characters, is deliciously tongue-in-cheek.”
A seance, a severed head in a pie sack, struggles and a swordfight [...] It all adds up to a thoroughly good evening’s entertainment.” - The Stage (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes)
