Newly revealed figures show that more than £3.7 million of National Lottery funding was awarded across Dumfries and Galloway last year alone.

A wide variety of local projects received National Lottery grants last year, including £4000 to Kirkcudbright Gold Club to purchase equipment, £6200 to Penninghame Primary School to help celebrate their 50th anniversary and £8200 to Kirkcudbright Canoe Club to expand their activities.

From today any organisation that has ever received National Lottery funding can enter The National Lottery Awards 2016. Winners will receive a £3000 cash prize and national recognition at a glittering ceremony broadcast on BBC One in October. If you wish to nominate your favourite project call 0207 293 3599 to find out more and to enter. Entries must be received by midnight on 9 March 2016.
