The Newton Stewart Guides celebrated their centenary with a tea party at the end of June.
It was a lovely afternoon, with guests including former guides and leaders who had come from as far as Glasgow. A tempting range of sandwiches and cakes and lots of tea were expertly served by current Guides. A cake was cut by County President Sheila Ogilvy and youngest current Guide Ellie Mars. Sheila’s Mum was one of the original Guides when they started in 1916. There were many happy memories looking at photos of years gone by, which are now on display at Newton Stewart Museum.
