Following its recent committee meeting Newton Stewart Bridge Club agreed that the new venue for the forthcoming season would be Newton Stewart Golf Club.
A spokesman for the club said: “Tournaments will be held each Tuesday evening from 7th October at 7.00pm, until 31st March 2015. Not only will there be a full programme of local bridge but there is the opportunity to take part in various national competitions as Newton Stewart Club belongs to the Scottish Bridge Union. As always the club welcomes visitors of all ages and non members, and hopes to attract new members to this light airy venue. An open bridge night in aid of golf club funds, is being held on Tuesday 30th September at 7 o’ clock. So come along and try our new venue.
“To encourage new members, one of the clubs older and most experienced members, namely Jim Watson, is proposing to hold beginners lessons in his home, at 18 Princes Avenue, Newton Stewart, weekly from Wednesday 3rd September at 7.00 p.m. not only to encourage new players but also to give confidence and direction to returning players, so why not take advantage of this opportunity to go along and have fun.
For further details about any of the above please contact Jim at (01671) 404903 for the classes, or Russell at 402566 for the club. We look forward to a happy and successful season.”
