Part of the wider Women for Independence Movement, WFI Galloway is a new group for women who are interested in politics, and in working together to make Scotland better for all.
The group – which isn’t attached to any political party - is already working on a submission to the Smith Commission, regarding future devolved powers for Scotland.
Member Karen Campbell said: “Women in particular have been invigorated and informed by the recent referendum. We felt it was crucial that every one of us, whether we voted Yes or No, continue to have our voices heard in terms of shaping the future of our country – and that we keep active and informed about local and national politics.”
The next meeting of WFI Galloway will be on Tuesday, November 4, at 6.30pm in Gatehouse Community Centre.
All women are welcome.
