The Dumfries and Galloway Interfaith Group have held a special event to celebrate Scottish Interfaith Week in the Usual Place Cafe.
This year’s theme was caring for the environment and through sharing readings from all the different faith traditions it was clear that there is a great deal of common ground between them all.
Jan Lethbridge from the interfaith group said: “Caring for the earth and its resources is an important part of all faiths and the idea that we are stewards of the planet and must behave responsibly, individually and collectively is also common to all.”
Dumfries and Galloway Multicultural Society Chair Yen Hongmei Jin attended the meeting and added: ‘Working across different faiths and cultures makes an important contribution to peace and harmony in our local area as well as nationally and internationally.
“Events like this allows us to celebrate our diversity in a very positive way.”
