Let us introduce you to Pepsi, who despite being 12, still likes to live life to the max!
She is a loveable elder girl, keen on having that special human friend to share cuddles with, and is used to having children around too. She isn’t keen on other cats or dogs though. Pepsi has come into care, through no fault of her own, and is slightly rounder than she should be. But she is very accepting of her diet control - nothing fancy or special foods - just measured portion control and encouraging her to have exercise. Pepsi is an indoor cat anyway so enjoys the fun of chasing games and plenty of stimulation - mental and physical to keep her content. We are often asked if it is cruel to keep a cat indoors, as traffic, foxes and so on are a constant threat. The simple answer is - not at all - as long as they get the time and attention they deserve. It doesn’t mean spending a fortune on fancy toys either - a rolled up ball of foil, or shining an led torch on the wall, or empty toilet tubes taped together with treats hidden, all help to entertain our feline friends. Half the fun is getting inventive and creating games that your individual cat enjoys, and remember to vary them often! Pepsi is of course neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, with the usual adoption fee of £50 being applicable to assist us with costs.
With the great weather we have had recently, the sight of sunbathing cats is always pleasant. Sadly we are noticing many of these cats are more “intact” than perhaps they should be, and despite numerous education attempts, the uptake of our neutering vouchers is lower than we would like. There are many kittens and cats already needing homes this year so please, please treat your cat to this simple operation which will benefit their health and lifestlye, and assist with the bigger problem in Ayrshire of unwanted animals. Call our office on 08453 714216 to arrange your neutering voucher immediately.
