The Blythswood Care collection lorry will be making its regular visits to south west Scotland on Tuesday 10th June, stopping at Kircudbright Parish Church Hall from 9.00-9.30am; Riverside Car Park, Newton Stewart from 10.15-10.45am; and the Church of Scotland, Glenluce from 11.15-11.45am.

The collection lorry accepts clothing, shoes, books, small items of furniture, bric a brac and foodstuffs. The goods are brought to the Blythswood depot at Hillington and distributed to the charity’s shops or prepared for sending to partner organisations in Eastern Europe, who are working to help extremely poor families and individuals. All donated items are processed by Blythswood Care. For further information, please go to the website,

Blythswood Care has also issued an urgent appeal and is sending financial aid to the charity Love Your Neighbour in Serbia, following the serious flooding in that country recently. The organisation’s head of fundraising Danny Muschate says: “Thousands of people are currently affected by the severe floods in Serbia. Months of rainfall in a few days has resulted in people losing homes and possessions and sadly there are some fatalities. You can donate through our website at!donate/cphb or by text at 70070 with the message SERB14 followed by your donation – for example, SERB14£10. Or you can donate by calling 0845 456 9460. Thank you for your support.”

Blythswood Care would like to thank all those who donate items to the monthly collections in the area. The donations help to fund the work of Blythswood in supporting disadvantaged people in eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. Special thanks to the groups which support Blythswood Care on a regular basis.
