Retired 90-year-old physiotherapist John Cramond from Stranraer has just written his first novel.
Remarkable enough given John’s age but miraculous as John is blind.
He decided to write a short story about a gentleman who wasn’t able to enlist for the First World War due to health reasons and was honoured by the King for various philanthropic projects he undertook around ‘Cranster’ and the East Neuk. John has always liked writing and this is his second venture into writing as he wrote his autobiography a couple of years ago.
He didn’t need to do any research he used information that was know to him locally and it took him six months to write the book. Neither age nor blindness had any material effect on writing and there might even be a sequel to ‘Sumner and the East Neuk.’ to cover the period up to the Second World War.
John’s book was printed by J&B Print, Newton Stewart.
John’s book is available exclusively at Moodies, 56-58 Hanover Street, Stranaer.
