Big old Parish clean up for Glenluce area

The Old Luce Development Trust, in conjunction with the Old Luce Community Council, has organised the Big Parish Clean Up under the banner of the nationwide Clean Up Scotland campaign, which is run by Keep Scotland Beautiful, the charity for Scotland’s environment.

All residents in the Old Luce Parish (Glenluce, Dunragit, Auchenmalg and their surrounds) are invited to take part in the community initiative.

Michael Lane (Chair of the Old Luce Development Trust) appealed for more supporters to come forward to help.

The clean up is on Saturday October 8th from 9:30am-2pm (but all welcome to join the clean-up throughout the day) at Lady Stair Park (Glenluce), and the Park in Dunragit.

Following the event, everyone is invited back to the Glenluce Village Hall, where burgers will await to celebrate our days’ work, as well as our communities spirit of coming together. In the hall will be an information stand about the OLDT, with an opportunity for residents to enrol as many adult residents as possible to become members of the Trust.

Mike Lane said: “This is a great opportunity for our small parish to come together and make an instant improvement to our environment.

“We live in a beautiful pat of the world, and it occasionally requires a little love and care to keep it beautiful.

“The OLDT was formed to bring long term and substantive change to all the communities. We know there is a rich vein of skills, talents and physical resources which can be tapped across our area, which will help ensure Old Luce is a vibrant community for people to live.

“We want everyone in our Parish to be involved and have a voice in this exciting process”

The OLDT is a development organisation that works with the community to improve the quality of life for residents of the Old Luce Parish.

Membership of the OLDT is open to all adult residents of the Old Luce Parish. Membership forms are available from the Glenluce Keystore, board members, or by emailing
