The much coveted Galloway Gazette Tearoom of the Year Trophy has been awarded to The Alpine Lounge in Stranraer for 2014 for their fantastic afternoon tea.
Galloway Gazette reporter and chief taster Louise Kerr presented the trophy last week to Gail Munro from the Alpine Lounge.
The Alpine Lounge was judged the best “tearoom” after serving up a traditional afternoon tea that was superb value for money. The great fare was accompanied by attention to detail and ever-smiling staff that would go the extra mile for their customers.
Gail said: “We at the Alpine Lounge are really thrilled to be named The Galloway Gazette Tearoom of the Year, especially given the stiff competition we faced.
“Since we introduced afternoon tea to the menu it has been a huge success and credit must got to the staff here both in the kitchen and in the Alpine for their skill and professionalism.”
