Vaccine numbers continue to grow

More than 60 per cent of the adult population in Dumfries and Galloway have received their first Covid-19 vaccination, and coming up for 10 per cent have received their second.

More than 85,000 doses of the vaccine have been put in D&G arms

By March 23 a total of 74,948 first dose vaccinations had been delivered, representing 62 per cent of people aged 16 and above.

A total of 10,446 second dose vaccinations have been delivered, which is 8.2 per cent of the adult population and takes the total number of vaccinations to 85,394.

Work has been taking place to vaccinate those in ‘at-risk groups’ aged 16 and above, people aged 50 and above and unpaid carers.
