Ms Harper said: “Dumfries and Galloway e ntering into leve l 2 restrictions signals the positiv e step forward that we hoped for with some additional easing of restrictions.

“For the first time in many months people will be permitted into each other’s homes with overnight stays possible which I’m sure we have all been looking forward to.

“Many businesses, including entertainment venues, will also be able to open from Monday, I know this will be a positive and exciting time for many and I want to encourage everyone to enjoy the new restrictions, but to do it responsibly and safely.”
