The programme is created in partnership with Theatre Royal Dumfries and Peter Pan Moat Brae and is funded by The Holywood Trust and Creative Scotland.
It is supported by the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland and Dumfries And Galloway Arts Festival.
Over 12 months, the programme will allow the young writers an opportunity to develop their work within the theatrical medium and be encouraged and supported to experiment and develop their voice as playwrights.
The programme will involve regular workshops with some of the UK’s leading playwrights and theatre creatives, visits to see theatre productions, play readings.
Participants will also receive access to resources, as well as mentoring with the company’s artistic director Ali Anderson-Dyer and the Bunbury Banter team.
The writers will be taken on a journey towards creating their own final piece, which will be developed with professional actors, with a semi-staged presentation before an invited audience made up of Scottish theatre professionals.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 15 at 5pm.
