Two ‘not spots’ in Dumfries and Galloway receive 4G connectivity
EE has partnered with the Scottish Government, the Scottish Futures Trust and WHP Telecoms to bring 4G to Loch Head and Ae.
These sites are part of the Scottish Government’s £28.75m Scottish 4G Infill programme in so-called ‘not-spots’ in rural Scotland which previously had no coverage.
Emergency services and mountain rescue will be able to access a reliable 4G mobile service in Loch Head and Ae for the first time, along with residents, visitors and businesses.
Martyn Cheyne, WHP strategic development director, said: “We are pleased to have facilitated reliable coverage to these parts of Dumfries and Galloway for the first time, and welcome other operators to share these sites reducing the amount of infrastructure required in the landscape.”
