Quilted hugs from Sorbie quilters
The Sorbie Quilt Group meet every Monday night’s with a goal to provide “quilted hugs” in the shape of Project Linus Quilt.
The group - Sue Grimes, Elaine Milven, Laura Lawson, Elizabeth Wallace, Maria Old and Emma McCormick and juniors Morven Old and Sarah Lawson - have made 117 quilts this year with a lot of PHD’s (project half done)they hope to reach 200 by Christmas.
Last weekend they held a soup and sweet at Whauphill Hall which raised £600 with lots of quilts on display including their Edinburgh show quilts entitled 1,2 missed a ewe 99,100.
Project Linus coordinator Joan Rhind delivers the quilts to various places in the region and needs a minimum of 40 quilts every month. Through the group’s Facebook page they have been able to make quilts for youngsters going for treatment at Glasgow and Edinburgh hospitals. The group would like to thank everyone for there support and generosity
