The children had been involved in writing, recording and editing films in groups about ‘Buddy’, the VI Bear. They then presented their films to the Oscar audience.
There were nine categories and an overall winner with Oscars being awarded for each. The children, staff and parents all got into the Oscar spirit by dressing in their best clothes and posing for photos on the red carpet. The pupils’ work, including movie star portraits, wall of fame prints, homework projects and writing from the topic, were on display around the hall for the parents to view.
Class teachers Ruth Gordon and Morgan Smith said: “It was a great way for children to learn about the history and progression of film-making. They worked really hard to write and then produce their own films starring Buddy and the Oscar Night was a great success.”
