Wigtown continued their good run of form last Saturday when they defeated Crichton 6-1 in the league.

A Richard Jones hat trick, a Blair Dougan double and a single from Robert Jamieson with only a consolation from Crichton’s Jordan Muirhead competed the scoring.

Lochar had a good 2-0 victory over Fleet Star at Gatehouse with Lee Martin scoring both goals in the second half.

Five minutes after the break Martin scored from the penalty spot and three minutes later he made sure of victory with a goal from six yards out.

The four league games scheduled for this Saturday are all matches which should not influence the outcome of the title winners with Edu playing cup football and St Cuthbert Wanderers without a game.

Crichton would look to have an advantage over Fleet Star while a home match for Nithsdale against YMCA should see the three points remain in Sanquhar.

Uppers against Creetown should be a close tussle as may well be the case on the match at Palmerstone where Heston play neighbours Abbey Vale.

Both Potts cup matches could be close with Mids hoping that home advantage should be enough to see them through against Lochar Thistle while Edusport will be looking for the same outcome against Newton Stewart.
