West End take the League Flag

The Wigtownshire Bowling Association League Champions for 2016 are Rhins champs West End Bowling Club who won the title last Friday night when beating Machars winners Whithorn Bowling Club by six points to two.

The title decider was played at Castle Kennedy green and at the end of the games, the President of the Wigtownshire Bowling Association Alex Hanlin presented the Machars Shield to Whithorn and the WBA runners-up shield, then he presented the overall champions shield and the flag to the West End club. He thanked the players for the sporting manner in which the games were played and thanked the Castle Kennedy Club for hosting the match and the greenkeeper for having the green in tip-top condition. He also thanked the umpire for his work during the game and the WBA secretary for his work for the association.
