Wigtownshire Bowling Association played Glasgow East in the County Championships at Stranraer Bowling green on Saturday.
After five ends Wigtownshire were 35-21 up; after ten ends was 77-45 up.
After 15 ends they were 119-66 up; after 18 ends were 136-97 and went onthe win the match 164-97 after 21 ends.
This result puts Wigtownshire top of the south section on shots:
1, Wigtownshire +93; 2, Lanarkshire +84; 3, Dumfriesshire +78.
Wigotwnshire travel to Lockerbie to play Dumfries on saturday. The bus will leave stranraer at 10.15am; Glenluce 10.30am; Wigtown 11.00 am; Newton Stewart 11.20am.

Gatehouse Bowling Club
Gatehouse Open Tournament for Mixed Pairs competing for The Tony Stewart Memorial Shield was played last Thursday.
In the final match two pairs from Auchencairn played a closely contested game with Scott and Trudy McCubbin coming out winners over Jock and Kate McGarrie. Presentations were made by Evelyn Austin and the event sponsor was Ian Galloway of Twynholm Garage.
Isle of Whithorn
The Isle of Whithorn Bowling Club held a charity pairs tournament on Sunday, June 8,with good weather and a good entry.
The winners David Bark and Malchom Heron picked the British Heart Foundation as this year’s charity. Ann Kay and Alf McHallum were runners-up.
President Alf thanked the sponsors – The Steam Packet, Burrowhead Holiday Village, George and Billy McShane, also all the competitors and the ladies for their hard work.
Whithorn go a point clear in the Parity Cup with one game to go, Kirkinner’s good result puts them one point behind Kirkcowan on 28pts, Garlieston on 25pts and Portwilliam on 24pts could win the cup.
