LOCHANS bred international curler Vicki Adams will be heading to Sweden in December as part of Eve Muirhead’s rink, to represent Scotland at the European Curling Championships.
Twenty-two year old Vicki will be going there with the defending champions as the same team won the title in Moscow last December.
Team Muirhead won the right to go to the European Championships after they comprehensively beat Gail Munro’s Stranrer team of Lyndsay Wilson, Katie Wright and Jodie Milroy by three nil in a best of five playoff at Aberdeen last weekend.
The scores were 11-5; 11-4 and 11-3 in favour of the Muirhead team.
Vicki Adams said: “We are looking forward to it now we have last weekend out of the way as we knew it would be a test for us. It is always difficult to beat a team three times in a row.
“We will now have to train hard for the Europeans as we want to defend our title. We are heading to Canada soon to play in two competitions as a warm-up.”
