St Cuthbert Wanderers brought Newton Stewart’s unbeaten run to an end when they beat the Creesiders by three goals to one at St Mary’s Park.

The visitors opened the scoring after six minutes through a Dean Black free kick with Mark Cravens levelling the match in the twentieth minute. Jack McMurdo gave Saints the lead seventeen minutes later to give the home side a narrow lead to take into the half time break.

The second half was played out fairly evenly but substitute Roman Soltys clinched victory a minute from time when he scored Saints’ third goal to put them through to the semi-final stages of this particular competition.
